Sleep Through Your Surgery With MD-Led Anesthesia

What is Sedation Dentistry?
Sedation dentistry uses medication to help you feel relaxed during your treatment. Depending on the type of sedation used, you may feel mildly calm, deeply relaxed, or even sleep through the entire procedure. Although sedation helps you stay comfortable, local anesthetic is still used to numb the treatment area, ensuring you remain completely pain-free.
At Anchor Dental Implant Center, we offer a variety of sedation options to meet your needs. Whether you prefer light relaxation or deeper sedation, our MD-led sedation ensures your experience is stress-free, comfortable, and efficient. We provide sedation options such as nitrous oxide, intravenous (IV) sedation, and general anesthesia, all carefully monitored by our in-house MD anesthesiologist.

Who is a Candidate for Sedation?
Before recommending sedation, our team will review your medical history and discuss your comfort level, treatment needs, and available options. Most healthy individuals are good candidates for sedation, but we’ll ensure the safest approach based on your unique needs.
For oral or IV sedation, you’ll need a trusted friend or family member to drive you home after the appointment, as it is not safe to operate a vehicle following sedation.
What Happens During Sedation?
Sedation dentistry is designed to help you feel calm, safe, and completely at ease throughout your visit. Once your chosen sedation method is selected, the process is simple and carefully monitored for your comfort.
For IV Conscious Sedation, a small needle is placed into your arm and attached to an intravenous line. During the appointment, the sedative is continuously administered via a drip, keeping you comfortably relaxed or asleep until the needle is removed. After the procedure, you'll be taken to a recovery room to gently wake up and rest before going home.
